Description
"Allosaurus"
Prints: daniel-eskridge.artistwebsites…
A red and orange striped allosaurus emerges from a narrow, rocky canyon. Allosauruses were theropod dinosaurs that lived around 150 million years ago. This savage looking creature was likely an apex predator of the late Jurassic era.
This artwork actually started out as a test for one one of my prior work,Jurassic Invasion Force ( goo.gl/uEABJ5 ). I liked it so much though that I decided to make it a stand alone image for my paleoart series. I particularly like the way the bright color of its skin stands out against the muted tones of the rocks as well as the way it works with the complimentary blue of the sky. I designed the scene so that this awesome predator was emerge from the shadows to give it more of a sense of menace, similar to the way a shark emerges from the murk of the sea.
